I cherish my time off. I like having time to myself whether it is to work on some odd ball project I have concocted or it's a household chore I want to do. Being able to relax has never come easy for me ever throughout my life but it is a practice that I know that I need to get better at.
Anyway, I got up and got myself ready for the day. I decided that I wanted to go see if I could locate a Quest Labs somewhere nearby since the doctor told my on Friday that I need to have tests run. Getting blood work ups done is part of them. So Dan and I went for a drive to find one and we did. Of course it being Saturday they were closed but at least I know where to go and I know the hours that they are there.
After that we stopped by so I could get a little breakfast. Dan had already eaten something so he wasn't hungry. Next up we visited the Thrift Mart on the corner. It used to be a Scotties hardware store years ago now is a thrift store. I wanted to look for old suitcases and luckily found several for $2 to $4 a piece. I got three.
Next up was a trip to the post office to mail a small box to Mom. In it was a computer mouse pad with clogger's new logo on it and the 3 little hot pink suitcases....that's a whole other story.
Once we got all that done it was back to the house for a bit.
It was such a pretty day outside, about 72 degrees and sunny. So I decided to take advantage of the nice weather and do the yard work. Believe it or not I enjoy doing yard work. So in a way I suppose one could argue that it's somewhat relaxing in it's own way. So I cleaned out the bushes around the house clearing out Ll the dead leaves from last fall and winter. Then edged the yard, mowed the grass, blew all the mess off the sidewalks. I even sprayed for weeds and managed to prune a little of the hedges. It looks nice. Was the first time working in the yard since around Thanksgiving so all the little glitter pieces got cleNed up.
I showered and got cleaned up then it was off to the Florida Mall with Dan and Kevin so Kevin could vet his laptop fixed. So Dan and I walked around the mall while he was taking care of that. Next we dropped Kevin off at the parking garage so he could get Michelle's car (sheis on vacation). Then was back home to relax a little before going to dinner at Unos

I Saw A Penny
Today was an early day. I had to be ready and at work this morning BY 7 o'clock. I don't like early mornings and I actually dread them. It's not just the mere having to get up so dang early but it starts in fact so much earlier than when the alarm clock goes off the day-of. There is that whole initial anger when you first see it on your stupid work schedule which also mixes in a little disappointment, that once again you don't just have your normal week. Then periodically on the days that follow, there is the dread every time you recall that you indeed have it. Of course the night before the actual day there is the checking and double checking of the alarm clock as you climb into bed abnormally earlier than you usually would. If I manage to fall asleep quickly, inevitably I wake up throughout the night, fearing that I will over sleep and each time that I awake, I countdown the time... 4 more hours until I have to get up... 3 and a half hours... Then finally I get back to sleep just as it seems the alarm sounds its revelry. Snooze is both a wonderful invention and yet a curse. Finally after a couple of hits of the snooze, Dan coaxed me out of bed, thus beginning my day.
Once up I managed to get out the door and onto the roads. I'm surprised at the number of people out and about at 6:30 in the morning. Thankfully Chik-Fil-A opens for breakfast at 6 so I made a stop there for the usual. A 4 count chicken mini entree only and a large sweet tea. A wonderfully affordable treat at $4.90.
The day was busy from start to finish. I had level 3 float driver training to teach with Chris and Josh. Orlando and Frankie were there as well continuing with their shadowing of what I do. I talked too long during class as usual so it was a mad dash to the end to try and finish on time. During all that we got word that Magic Kingdom park hours got extended for tomorrow night and "they" added ELP parades.... Uummm yeah... Staff the thing 24 hours out starting from scratch. Oh and we HAD the second day of driver training set for tomorrow night. So I spent the rest of my day helping to get things moved around and schedules fixed. Ugh!
Had a good day with BillDave and we got things figured out for training.
Then came home, got McDonalds and watched some Laverne and Shirley episodes on the DVR. Dan is home, Teddy and Kitty are content. Kevin should be home soon!
I went to the mailbox to get the mail and saw a penny on the sidewalk. I picked it up to add to the change I'm saving for a future trip somewhere. Where to you ask? I have no idea.
